Job Description: Senior Database Architect
Job Summary: The Senior Database Architect will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining databases that support data storage and processing across the organization. This role involves developing strategies for data warehouse implementation, data acquisition, access, archiving, and recovery. The Senior Database Architect will also build data models, define the structure and attributes of data elements, and ensure data sources adhere to organizational quality standards and are easily integrated into existing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and manage scalable databases for effective data storage and processing.
Develop and implement strategies for data warehouse setup, including data acquisition, access, archiving, and recovery processes.
Create and maintain data models, defining the structure, attributes, and nomenclature of data elements in alignment with organizational standards.
Evaluate new data sources for integration and ensure adherence to the organization's data quality standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure databases meet technical and business requirements.
Work with project teams to provide technical guidance on database architecture and implementation, ensuring databases align with project goals and organizational needs.
Contribute to systems coordination and support data management activities for HRSA projects, with a focus on database design, data storage, and data accessibility.
Contribute to technical aspects of projects aimed at addressing key health initiatives, including database strategies supporting systems coordination and technical assistance with HRSA.
Ensure databases support data-driven decision-making in areas such as access to HIV care, linkage to services, retention, and viral suppression in targeted jurisdictions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to design and maintain databases that streamline data sharing across various health organizations and jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with nondiscrimination and health standards.
Support the development of strategies for data-driven health initiatives, including technical assistance, data acquisition, and evaluation of innovative strategies to achieve program goals.
Participate in the coordination and planning of database infrastructure across stakeholders, such as federal and local health authorities, research institutions, and healthcare providers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
4-7 years of experience in database architecture, design, and management.
Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, data modeling, and database development tools.
Experience with data warehouse implementation, data integration, and database performance optimization.
Strong understanding of data quality standards and best practices in database management.
Experience working with healthcare data or public health initiatives (preferred).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge of federal health initiatives, particularly in relation to HIV care coordination and data management (preferred).
Experience with large-scale data systems supporting public health or technical assistance initiatives.
Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions and data integration tools.
Familiarity with technical assistance programs and systems coordination activities.
Ability to design databases that meet the needs of diverse health organizations and support comprehensive data analysis and reporting.
Compensation and Benefits
The projected compensation range for this position is $139,000 to $169,750 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary is $154,000. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
