Senior Design Engineer - Aerospace and Defense
Ingenium Technologies has an opening for several Senior Design Engineers - Contract. The individual will develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and business development personnel.
This key position will also be involved in preparing designs, estimating costs, and helping to write the technical volume as a part of a team. This is a long term contract position located in Rockford, Illinois.

Principal Responsibilities:
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and business development personnel.
- Validate conceptual designs by performing trade studies and analyses.
- Be an important contributor to the design proposal team by preparing a design, estimating costs, and helping to write the technical volume.
- Operate as an important element in a team of creative, independent individuals, soliciting and being sensitive to design feedback.
- Represent Ingenium in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.
- Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.
- Consult on new product and market development efforts.
- Maintain currency with materials technology, industry design requirements, and modern design & analysis tools.
- When applicable supervise less experienced engineers and project/product engineering technicians.
- Oversee all design elements required to produce quality solid models and layouts.
- Analyze design problems and direct the writing of Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
- Minimum 8+ years of professional design/development engineering work experience creating designs of aircraft electromechanical and mechanical components
- Knowledge of stress analysis, kinematics, strength of materials, and vibration.
- Experience with aircraft high lift systems.
- This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Salary
60 - 120 /hour
