We're seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to drive growth in the defense sector, focusing on cutting-edge electro-mechanical drive systems for land and naval platforms. In this key role, you will be responsible for developing tailored solutions that meet the needs of defense integrators, contributing to the success of high-performance systems in weaponry, combat vehicles, and naval operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales objectives for electro-mechanical drive systems in defense applications, including combat vehicles, radars, missile launchers, and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs).
- Build and nurture relationships with key customers, including military agencies, defense contractors, and international procurement teams.
- Lead and manage the business development team, identifying and capturing new opportunities aligned with corporate goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering and R&D to develop products that meet customer needs and operate in severe environmental conditions.
- Develop and execute market penetration strategies for high-performance defense technologies, including weapon systems, sensors, and actuation systems.
- Provide insights and recommendations for product enhancements based on customer feedback and defense industry trends.
- Oversee customer accounts, government contracts, and relationships with defense procurement agencies.
- Ensure compliance with defense regulations, including ITAR and relevant international trade agreements.
- Drive the adoption of CRM systems to enhance sales performance and streamline processes.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and key customer meetings to strengthen market presence.
- Lead contract negotiations and proposal development, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic objectives.
- Travel as needed to meet with defense industry stakeholders and customers.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
- Bachelors degree in business, engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Extensive experience in business development or sales within the defense industry, especially military-grade electro-mechanical systems.
- Proven success in growing defense-related product lines, including combat vehicles, weapon systems, and sensor technologies.
- Strong understanding of government procurement processes and compliance in the defense sector.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with a history of building long-term customer relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and CRM systems.
- Background in military or naval defense environments, with expertise in supporting land and sea-based platforms.
- Experience working with complex, custom-engineered products, including electro-mechanical actuation systems.
- Familiarity with international defense trade agreements and export regulations.
- Bilingual proficiency (English and another language such as Spanish or German) is an asset.
