The People, Purpose & Brand (PP&B) organization is the steward of Liberty Mutual’s talent, culture, and purpose. We are currently seeking a dynamic Senior Director, Data Strategy to lead our Data Office. This position is a crucial element of our goal to build a competitive advantage in data. It reports directly to the leader of the Strategy, Insights, & Experience team within PP&B and is a member of the Enterprise Data & Data Science leadership group. As the Senior Director, Data Strategy, you will be instrumental in crafting our data strategy and driving meaningful outcomes across PP&B and the entire company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vision & Strategy: Develop a forward-looking vision for the PP&B organization’s data strategy roadmap and data governance, building plans to execute.
- Outcomes: Deliver on aligned data use cases that create meaningful, quantifiable value for PP&B and Liberty Mutual.
- Collaboration: Partner with data leaders across the enterprise to drive cohesive, enterprise-wide data initiatives.
- Cross-functional Engagement: Engage dynamically and build relationships across a broad set of partners, including Technology (e.g., application teams, data engineering teams), Digital Employee Experience, PP&B Analytics, and Enterprise Data & Data Science. Ensure a deep understanding of how PP&B data is used across the enterprise and build plans to create more value for cross-functional partners.
- Best Practices: Understand and analyze market best practices to help enhance PP&B’s data capabilities.
- Team Leadership: Lead a diverse team of thirteen onshore and offshore team members (e.g., data strategy, data stewardship).
Successful candidates will possess:
- Relevant and practical technical skills in the Talent space (e.g., data, technology), with a focus on making progress over perfection.
- Robust skill set in influencing across teams and varied stakeholders is required given the cross-functional nature of the role.
- Capabilities in developing strategic roadmaps, building alignment, and driving towards outcomes.
- Demonstrated track record of building diverse, equitable, and inclusive team environments as a people leader.
- 10+ years of specifically relevant experience working in Talent Data or Talent Technology.
- BA/BS in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics) preferred with a strong desire for candidates with relevant advanced degrees or equivalent work experience.
