As the Senior Director of Digital Transformation and Data Governance for the Procurement Digital Transformation & Operations (DT&O) team you will play a vital role in overseeing the strategic development and implementation of digital solutions and analytics that guide the procurement organization into the future. You will be responsible to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the specified standards.  Additionally, you will play a critical role in the procurement data management and governance process as we work to improve data completeness and accuracy which are key enablers to our digital and AI projects.  This critical role will report directly to the VP of Digital Transformation and Operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive program and process improvements.
• Lead change management efforts within the procurement organization to drive adoption of digital tools and technologies, ensuring employees are trained and equipped to use them effectively.
• Support VP on key strategic deliverables and operational initiatives to drive results.
• Coach and mentor others to elevate program and data management skills.
• Promote a data-first culture within the procurement team, training employees to leverage analytics in their daily operations and optimize procurement strategies based on data insights.

Digital Transformation and Analytics

• Partner with senior procurement leaders to identify and prioritize areas where data analytics and digital solutions can create value and enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop business cases for investments in procurement technologies, securing buy-in from key stakeholders and aligning with organizational financial goals.
• Champion the use of data analytics and digital tools to streamline procurement operations, improve supplier relationships, and drive cost savings.
• Lead initiatives to digitize and automate procurement processes such as sourcing, supplier onboarding, purchase orders, and invoicing, using data analytics to drive informed decisions.
• Leverage spend analytics, procurement KPIs, and data models to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that drive savings, enhance supplier performance, and optimize the supply chain.
• Lead the integration of advanced analytics capabilities within the procurement organization, ensuring teams are equipped to use analytics tools for strategic sourcing, supplier management, and decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies into existing procurement processes, systems, and platforms.
• Use advanced analytics tools to report to senior leadership on procurement performance, progress of digital transformation initiatives, and the ROI of data-driven solutions.

Data Management / Governance

• Lead the procurement data management program and ensure alignment with overall organizational data governance policies and goals.
• Identify critical data elements, define and implement control processes to ensure data is accurate, complete, and protected. 
• Support efforts to accelerate process improvements and update process/policies where needed to drive quality results / improvements.
• Create and enforce policies for effective data management and analysis.
• Lead efforts to clean and maintain data integrity, identifying data gaps or inconsistencies and addressing them systematically.
• Ensure that data from various procurement tools (e.g., supplier management, contract lifecycle management) is properly captured, stored, and utilized.
• Continuously assess and improve procurement data governance practices to adapt to evolving business needs, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.
• Support the quality data collection process to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data.
• Oversee the deployment of AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics tools to improve data processing, insights, and automation in procurement processes.
• Work collaboratively with other departmental data governance teams to ensure a cohesive approach, practice and governance process is implemented.

• Bachelor’s degree in business management or supply chain with demonstrated program management skills and financial acumen, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Experience creating and enforcing policies for effective and measurable results.
• Experience in Data Management and Data Governance.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven track record of driving results and managing cross-functional initiatives to meet goals and objectives.
• Ability to hold others accountable to meet committed deliverables and ensure risks are identified and properly mitigated.
• Demonstrated program management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a structured way to meet deliverables.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify areas for improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Compensation & Benefits Details

• An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
• The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
• You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
