Job Description

• Manage Global Discovery business to ensure profitability and the delivery of quality products and services to clients.
• Work closely with go-to-market teams to identify and assess potential opportunities ensuring a robust pipeline of new and existing business.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of business strategy and financial planning, supporting the successful execution of business objectives.
• Ensure commercial success by focusing on customer satisfaction and executing strategies to sustain and enhance customer relationships; collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs and resolve any issues concerning our products and services.
• Cultivate and maintain long-term customer relationships that enhance revenue growth and profitability; work with cross-functional teams to create and implement customer-centric initiatives that align with our business goals and objectives. Develop policies, practices, and standards to minimize and manage business risk to the Company and customers.
• Develop, monitor, and implement budgets and pricing programs. Maintain financial oversight of operations.
• Develop and implement strategic and tactical initiatives of the Discovery business, including technology development initiatives and roll-out in conjunction with Chief Scientific Officer. Take ownership of strategic initiatives and work with functional management to develop implementation plans, including measures to evaluate success.
• Responsibilities include training, coaching, and mentoring employees; planning, delegating, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems.
• In conjunction with senior leadership, other regional managers, and global functional managers, assist in formulating effective global strategic goals and objectives.
• Provide support to business development and continued development of a competitive service offering by comparing capabilities with the market expectation for the Discovery business.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

• Master’s degree in business or science-related field required, PhD preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of preclinical experience required, preferably working at a CRO or a large pharmaceutical company.
• Large molecule experience required.
• Knowledge of operational aspects of pharmaceutical/biotech service delivery preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory and regional policies and practices in laboratory environment required.
