The Straz Center seeks a passionate Senior Director of Individual Giving (Senior Director) to lead the organization's individual and annual giving program. The successful candidate will lead a team of seven professionals with responsibility for raising $3.1 million annually from individual and annual fund donors. The Senior Director will oversee The Straz Center's individual giving pipeline and create strategies and tactics to acquire new individual donors while stewarding and renewing existing donors at the annual and leadership annual giving levels. In parallel, the successful candidate will oversee data systems, stewardship, delivery of annual giving benefits, and The Straz Center's donor concierge program.
The Senior Director will report to the Chief Development Officer. The candidate will lead a team of seven development professionals with three direct reports: Annual Fund Manager, Manager of Individual Giving, and Senior Manager of Development Systems. S/he will serve as development liaison to Opera Tampa's programs and Board of Directors.

Essential Functions:
- Lead The Straz Center's individual and annual giving program with responsibility for raising $3.1 million annually.
- Oversee The Straz Center's individual giving pipeline while personally carrying a portfolio of prospects with capacity to make gifts of $1,500 and above.
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for renewing existing annual donors while upgrading gifts and increasing renewal rates, while simultaneously focusing on the acquisition of new annual fund donors.
- Lead moves management, including the identification and migration of annual giving donors to the major gifts level.
- Lead discovery work and partner with colleagues to identify and qualify new annual and individual giving prospects.
- Oversee data systems, stewardship, delivery of annual giving benefits, and The Straz Center's donor concierge program.
- Serve as development liaison to Opera Tampa's programs and Board of Directors.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Passion for The Straz Center's mission, goals, and programs, with a commitment to the performing arts.
- Excellent communication skills (writing, proofreading, speaking, presentation, and listening) and keen attention to detail, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, as well as external constituencies.
- Professional style that demonstrates strong personal conduct and integrity, confidentiality, accessibility and the ability to develop, foster, and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, staff, and members of the community.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and writing skills, high attention to detail and follow-up, and excellent organizational and project management skills.
- High energy level, initiative, and consistent follow-through.
- Commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and best fundraising practices.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of leading comprehensive individual and annual fund programs, resulting in marked growth.
- Proven experience as an effective manager with the ability to motivate, mentor, and leverage a team's existing capacity to strengthen performance.
- Performing arts background or passion for the performing arts preferred.
