In the 2024-25 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.
KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 4th grade, 6th - 8th grade
KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade
For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.
K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm
High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

This position will be based in our regional offices in Jacksonville, FL.
POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Jacksonville seeks an experienced school operations leader for the Sr. Director of Regional Operations position. The ideal candidate for this position will have a deep passion for social justice and educational equity for all children, clear school-based or regional operations leadership experience that oversees critical operational areas for the organization.
The Sr. Director of Regional Operations (SDRO) is responsible for managing and developing regional operations positions and supporting school-based operations leaders. The SDRO will report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to accomplish regional and school-based operations goals aligned to student attendance, student enrollment, transportation, IT, food service, and operational excellence. The SDRO will help lead the culture and development of the operations team and report out to the COO on key operational data points that allow the organization to continue to grow.
This role will focus primarily on the following areas:
Managing regional operations members and supporting school-based operations leaders’ professional development to hit key metrics
Oversee progress to goal in key operational areas
Work with external vendors in IT, food service management, etc. as needed
The SDRO is a full-time role on the Shared Services Team which oversees four schools currently and is actively planning for growth in future school years. As a member of the Shared Services Team, this individual would be responsible for doing whatever it takes to ensure that students develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need to succeed throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond.
This position is year-round and performs duties as assigned by their manager. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but vary for this role based on the season. Some travel to community events during/after normal business hours would be required.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Managing Others
Lead the KIPP Jacksonville operations team by managing a Director of Enrollment and Family Engagement, a regional Transportation Manager, and external vendors.
Support through a dotted-line reporting relationship four (4) school-based Assistant Principals of School Operations to hit key school metrics in student attendance, student attrition, and day-to-day operational satisfaction metrics
Meet regularly with each school-based Assistant Principal of School Operations to monitor progress to goals on critical deliverables
Supports Principals in completing annual performance evaluations of school-based Assistant Principals of School Operations
Meet regularly with the Director of Enrollment and Family Engagement and Transportation Manager to monitor progress to goals
Develop and maintain strong relationships with school-facing vendors
Create professional development for school-based operations team members
Together with COO, develop strategic vision for a growing operations team that supports long-term growth
Design and Maintaining Systems
Design, update, and/or maintain internal operations systems that allow the organization to continue to grow. These systems might include school-based operations needs, school budgeting systems, compliance reporting, risk management, inventory, or technology systems.
Work to centralize best practices via playbooks and toolkits
Drive efforts for greater efficiency as we grow
Track progress of performance of the school-based operations team
Ensure all charter-based compliance measures are met
Other duties, as assigned
COMPENSATION
The annual salary for this role starts at $87,000

Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in the education or non-profit setting
Experience managing others
Exemplary written and verbal communication, organizational, and project management skills (i.e. speaking to groups and designing a scope and sequence of written communications to a group)
Ability to set large goals and then work to set interim benchmarks to meet targets
High level of organization and keen attention to detail
HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with school-based or regional operations in a non-profit charter setting
Master’s degree
