About the Job
Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experiences.
+ 15 years of experience in technical product management, including creating and driving product roadmaps from conception to launch.
+ 5 years of leading global teams and global products.
+ Experience leading and developing product management teams.
Preferred qualifications:
+ Ability to set and drive the "big picture" strategy while also having the capability to provide detailed technical guidance to the team, enabling them to execute more effectively and deliver products on time and within budget.
+ Ability to manage and mentor large, diverse teams across multiple geographies.
+ Ability to inspire and motivate the engineering team to work together as a cohesive and highly productive unit.
+ A passion for technology and technical depth to uncover root causes of complex technical problems and provide guidance on solving them.
The Shopping team is responsible for building the platforms and experiences that serve these users and ecosystems. The mission for Google Shopping is to “make Google an essential part of shopping journeys for consumers and the best place for merchants to connect with consumers”.
As Senior Director of Product Management for Shopping Platform, you will execute the core Data, Infrastructure, Compliance, and Quality strategy for Shopping across Google, with a primary focus of supporting the Consumer Shopping Product. You will be a key enabler of a growing commercial ecosystem that bridges the gap between supply and demand by leveraging our unique value proposition of offering products from merchants to users in a personalized way, leveraging Google’s strength in Generative AI regardless of where they are on their shopping journey.
In this role, you will be recognized as a technical and product expert in the shopping industry and leads multiple teams globally, covering the entire platform portfolio of Quality, Data, and Infrastructure for all shopping products across Google. You will be a key contributor to the long-term direction and strategy for the Shopping Product Area, as well as the partnership with Search Platform, and cross-Google Surfaces that leverage the platform and services (e.g., YouTube, Ads). You will lead a team of Product Managers and report to the Vice President of Google Shopping, Product Management.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $298,000-$428,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. + Develop and execute Shopping strategy in collaboration with other senior leaders across the company, identifying key growth opportunities and driving innovation.
+ Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and emerging trends in retail, including the latest technologies and consumer behavior.
+ Collaborate with other teams across Google, including product, engineering, marketing, legal, and finance to ensure alignment and integration with the overall business objectives.
+ Inspire engineering teams to innovate, invent, implement, and deploy complex software solutions, especially in regards to modernizing the architecture through ML and LLMs.
+ Develop and grow leadership talent through effective mentoring, coaching, and succession planning and retention strategies for key talent in a fast growing, highly competitive economic environment.
