Job Description
We are seeking a Senior level communications professional to direct and manage public engagement, executive communications and strategic priorities.
Essential Functions:
Oversee the development and manage CCL’s community engagement plan, in coordination with Marine, Government Affairs and ABG, (as part of the Corporate engagement plan). The community is defined to include geographies where our home ports are located, as well as important destinations. Each brand is responsible for implementing the community engagement plans that they are assigned to. This includes efforts to build and maintain relationships, identify stakeholders and partners, and enhance presence and reputation in major homeport communities. Acts as spokesperson when senior leadership is not available or has delegated responsibility.
Create and implement the CCL communications plan and agenda to elevate Carnival brand, cruise awareness and public leadership positioning, and oversee external agency scope of work and associated spend.
Partner with Cruise Lines International Association, the US Travel and World Travel & Tourism Council in the context of overall strategic communications plans and execution and support executive engagement with those organizations.
Manage the development of CCL business presentations, including speeches for executives including President, internal leadership meetings (VPs, shipboard, Directors, town halls) Board meetings and other needs; Partner with Core team leaders in communications as needed.
Respond, manage and proactively address crisis/incident support, as needed.
Proactively develop and enhance the core elements of CCL’s Communications resources to leverage the full effectiveness using emerging technology and tools. This includes content library, company calendar, rhythm of the business continuity and crisis management planning and readiness. Responsible for communications support and partnership across Marketing, Trade Sales, HR and Operations to maximize visibility and opportunities to enhance the guest and employee communications experience.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in corporate communications, and brand-focused public relations. Requires a proven track record of strategic leadership in managing issues and crises-related communications across a broad range of audiences. Strong experience developing and delivering communications for corporate executives for speeches, town halls, and other internal and external venues.
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business or Government required. Master's Degree is a Plus
Strong working knowledge of MS Teams, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Travel/Hospitality/Cruise experience preferred, not required.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, executive presence. Ability to make presentations professionally, advocate for the company, and build/maintain credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders.

25-50% non-shipboard travel is likely.
