Role Overview:
The (Senior) Director of Software Engineering will drive technological innovation in the biotech space, leading a team of engineers to develop advanced software solutions that support the company's mission. This role requires a visionary leader with strong technical expertise and strategic thinking to bridge software development and biotechnology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the software engineering team.
- Develop software strategies aligned with company goals.
- Oversee software design, development, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with biotech processes.
- Ensure software quality, reliability, and scalability.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Design and implement data management infrastructure.
- Oversee Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) development.
- Lead DevOps initiatives and optimize AWS cloud environment.
- Coordinate with IT for seamless software integration.
- Implement data visualization tools for actionable insights.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in leadership.
- Strong background in software architecture and design patterns.
- Experience in biotech industry required.
- Proficiency in Python, AWS, and cloud architecture.
- Excellent communication and team management skills.
- Experience in data management infrastructure, LIMS, DevOps, and IT operations.
