Job Details
This role will manage the product management organization within the software development team. They will report to the VP Software Development and will directly manage the three Director-level Product Managers (Back Office, Digital, and Theatre). This role will set the vision for how we manage product requirements, documentation, and prioritization, both from an internal development and external business stakeholder perspective.
A Day in the Life of a Senior Director Software Product Management:
Manage the Software Product Management organization.
Directly manage Directors of Product Management within the owned software portfolios.
Coordinate responsibilities of the Software Product teams to ensure cross-coordination across product teams.
Engage with business stakeholders to align software development efforts.
Build relationships with technical development teams to facilitate clear communication on work progress and priorities.
Create standard procedures using software development best practices.
Establish templates for software discovery, stories, and requirements.
Ensure alignment on requirements and work breakdown.
Review priorities both internally and externally.
Evaluate work before it enters a team backlog.
Communicate high-level priority status to internal teams and business stakeholders.
Develop and own processes for project requests and intake.
Coordinate with stakeholders on request status and refinement.
Obtain approvals based on established criteria.
Maintain and communicate software development priorities.
Align with the technical team on delivery timing and cross-product dependencies.
Facilitate Steering Meetings for project approval and alignment.

- Manage a team of leaders within specific product areas, overseeing Product Owners and Business Analysts.
- Build relationships with business leaders to understand stakeholder needs.
- Show empathy toward technical demands while deferring to experts and driving toward goals.
o Product Management
- Understand foundational Product Portfolio Management.
- Apply best practices in project management, including scaling Agile development.
- Experience with scaled Agile methodologies (e.g., SaFe, Scrum of Scrums).
- Manage prioritization using frameworks like RICE or MoSCoW.
- Adapt to evolving company priorities.
o Technical Understanding
- Have direct software development experience and comprehension of high-level architecture concepts in modern development.
- Discuss cloud concepts, APIs, data flows, and infrastructure.
- Understand security considerations.
- Analyze data and work with high-level database tools.
What You Will Need to Have:
- Preferably, have a technical background using Microsoft development technologies.
- Experience with both web and desktop products in an enterprise setting.
- Minimum 5 years of product management leadership across multiple products and teams.
- At least 15 years of experience in software development (technical or product roles).
- Effective communication skills for technical discussions and executive summaries.
- Direct experience collaborating with departmental and executive leadership
