As a Senior Director, Tax at RXO, you lead the tax department and will be responsible for all areas of federal, state, and local, and international taxes for RXO, Inc. These responsibilities include the development, evaluation and implementation of policies and procedures that encompass compliance, examinations, tax controversy, tax accounting, tax forecasting, provision maintenance and global tax planning.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Responsible for managing the Company’s initiatives across the tax function, including oversight of tax operations, compliance, planning, controversy, and accounting.
- Build and execute a road map for the future of the tax organization.
- Develop effective processes and technologies to support continued growth and scalability.
- Identify process enhancement opportunities and help drive their implementation.
- Partner with broader finance organization to deliver analytical solutions and to determine impact of strategic business decisions and transaction.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams on business initiatives, communications, and policy.
- Communicate tax results to CAO, CFO, and audit committee as needed.
- Liaise with external auditor with regards to tax matters.
What you’ll need to excel:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 7 years in a mid- to large-size corporation (preferably an SEC registrant) or Big Four firm with increasing responsibility for the blend of tax disciplines - Federal, International, State & Local, Tax Planning and Tax Accounting.
- Deep subject matter expertise in Corporate Tax, the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations, ASC 740, Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and the ability to apply these principles and assist in the formulation of the company's tax strategy.
- Ability to demonstrate the business acumen and apply judgment in formulating tax policy and procedures; and to direct the implementation of those tax policies and procedures for the company.
- Familiarity with the calculation of foreign earnings and profits, foreign tax credit planning, Canadian tax rules, and APB 23 is a plus for this position.
It’d be great if you also have:
- CPA
- 15+ years in a mid- to large-size corporation (preferably an SEC registrant) or Big Four firm with increasing responsibility for the blend of tax disciplines - Federal, International, State & Local, Tax Planning and Tax Accounting.
- Master’s Tax
