JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior District Manager drives boutique teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences aligned with L’Occitane’ s Retail Identity. Responsible for overseeing daily operations across multiple stores across NY/Northeast, this role includes talent recruitment, development, and retention, as well as ensuring compliance with safety standards, managing inventory and shrinkage, optimizing labor hours, and executing marketing and commercial initiatives. Additionally, the Senior District Manager leads cross-district projects, mentors other District Managers, and spearheads process improvement initiatives beyond their assigned market.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive Sales, profitability and best in class customer experience
- Lead and execute district business plans to drive Omni channel sales, profitability, and top-tier customer experiences.
- Conduct store visits (virtual and in-person) to enhance customer interactions, observe sales behaviors, and support a seamless customer journey.
- Foster customer loyalty and new customer acquisition through inspiring and engaging shopping experiences.
- Act as a bridge between store teams and support center, sharing insights to boost sales growth and foster revenue-generating ideas.
- Execute and support L’Occitane’s talent strategy including consistent networking, recruitment and succession planning, while mentoring and developing internal talent
- Act as a coach to the store managers and as a resource to each store employee to help inspire the success of each store
- Ensure that all teams are trained according to L’Occitane selling standards, product knowledge, Company guidelines and adhere to Company standards of integrity and ethics
- Demonstrate accountability for results, prioritize store performance, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulations.
- Foster a collaborative and team-oriented environment across the district, aligned with L’Occitane's core values of honesty, integrity, and humility.
- Lead with adaptability, actively listen to inspire trust, and support teams through change.
- Drive company objectives by achieving targets in sales, profitability, shrink, payroll, and efficient scheduling across assigned stores.
- Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization, ensuring operational excellence in all locations.
- Oversee store openings, renovations, and closures, partnering with departments to support promotions, recruitment, and training.
- Ensure company visual and operational standards are met to create an exceptional customer experience.
- Support the Retail Director in process improvement, project management, and implementing new initiatives across districts.
- Provide insights on retail trends, best practices, and customer behavior to inform strategic decisions.
- Mentor District Managers as needed and collaborate with cross functional departments to drive initiatives and ensure alignment.
- Contribute to the company's waste reduction targets through their support of related in-store initiatives, following inventory management guidelines to reduce product waste, and eliminating the purchase of single use plastics, as well as by promoting our refill products to heat targets
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
• Sales performance, conversion, customer recruitment/retention, employee retention, time to fill, payroll hour distribution and control management, inventory management
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree or similar work experience in retail business field
EXPERIENCE:
• 7 years of progressive retail experience
• Extensive experience in leading Boutiques Management staff
• Multi-unit retail experience and/or equivalent sales volume management experience required
SKILLS:
• Strong business acumen
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proven ability of delivering results through a high performing team of leaders
• Proven record of people development and succession planning
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent computer skills (Retail POS software and MS Office)
• Experience with partnering and representing with Cross-Functional departments (i.e. Marketing, Retail Development, etc.)
PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to work up to 8 hours per day and be on his/her feet for extended amounts of time
• Must be able to work from Support Center – New York office twice per month or as needed
• Must be able to travel nationally up to 75% of the time
• Valid Driver’s License required
