Primary Duties:
- Design and conduct experiments, collect data, and interpret results.
- Develop Direct and Quadrature circuits for electric motors, generators, and exciters.
- Perform transient simulation of electric motors, generators, exciters, rectifiers, and controls.
- Plan and coordinate the execution of complex engineering solutions, including documentation and reporting.
- Perform high-level electrical analysis of transformers, rod position indicators, and other electromagnetic devices.
- Design new equipment and machinery, oversee installation and testing.
- Lead technical teams in design and analytical activities for product design, development, and production.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and develop their skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required, Masters preferred. PhD a plus.
- 15+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering with a transient simulation skill set.
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following: 2D/3D Electro Magnetic Finite Element Analysis, System Modeling (Mathcad, Matlab, Simulink, Flux2D), Acoustics, Thermal Analysis.
- Experience in Direct and Quadrature circuit development and analysis of electric motors, generators, and exciters.
- Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies.
- Must be a team player and have knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
