Dewberry’s vibrant Raleigh, NC office includes over 200 design professionals, including a large MEPS Healthcare Group focused on providing master-planning and design services for many major healthcare clients in North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina. Our healthcare facility experience includes major trauma centers, oncology centers, ambulatory facilities, central plants, school of medicine facilities, and more. Raleigh’s healthcare group contains subject matter experts, regularly attending and presenting at ASHE conferences. Our repeat clients include most of the largest hospital systems in the region. Besides healthcare, the Raleigh office has other focused MEPS design groups serving higher education, K-12 schools, infrastructure clients, and more.
Because our backlog continues to grow, we are seeking an additional Senior Electrical Engineer – Healthcare to join our Raleigh, NC office’s existing healthcare electrical department. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and training/mentoring. You will assist Project/Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client’s desires and budget. You will collaborate with a team of engineers on a variety of healthcare projects. In addition to working with electrical engineers, you will team with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines to provide full-range services to our local and regional clients. In short, provide technical guidance associated with electrical requirements to accomplish our commitments. You will report to the MEPS Healthcare Group’s Electrical Department/Discipline Manager.

Responsibilities:
The Senior Electrical Engineer would be expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete projects:
- Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving electrical engineering.
- Technical training and development of staff.
- Assist in establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for electrical discipline area.
- Engineer of Record.
- Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
- Coordination with all the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
- Technical interface with code officials and contractors.
- Accomplished professional electrical engineer (PE). Existing licensure in NC is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive technical experience in the design of normal and essential power distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems on large and small, complex, healthcare projects.
- Experience should include technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
- Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Well organized, takes good notes.

Salary Range:
