Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. The Senior Electrical Engineer will drive the development of cutting-edge marine solutions and leverage extensive experience in electrical engineering, with a strong emphasis on high-voltage systems (about 400V), and showcase expertise in electronics, power systems, CAD tools, and signal processing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, adhere to industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols, and contribute to advanced development projects. Proficiency in high-voltage, low-voltage, intermediate voltage, and power systems is crucial for success. Strong communication skills for international collaboration, are required.

What you'll be doing:
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems, components, and products, emphasizing safety across voltage levels, including high-voltage systems (about 400V)
- Create detailed electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation
- Utilize your electronics expertise to design and troubleshoot electronic circuits.
- Apply your knowledge of electrical systems to ensure efficient comprehensive power management
- Proficiency in CAD tools for electrical design and simulation, streamlining the design process
- Leverage your signal processing skills for applications like filtering, data analysis, and signal conditioning
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments, focusing on voltage-specific safety measures
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, implementing voltage-specific safety solutions
- Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and best practices for safety across voltage levels.
- Lead the selection and procurement of electrical components and materials, considering voltage-specific safety.
- Provide technical support, emphasizing voltage-specific safety practices
- Contribute to project planning and budgeting, integrating voltage-specific safety measures
- Supervise junior engineers, emphasizing safety practices across voltage levels
- Performs other duties as required
What you need to be successful:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field (considered part of 15+ years of experience)
- 15+ years of electrical engineering experience, with a preference for mobility products and marine industry experience, which is a great plus
- Proficiency in electrical design software and tools for high-voltage, low-voltage, intermediate voltage, and power systems including DC/DC, AC/DC converter.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuit theory, and power distribution with a safety focus
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and safety compliance across voltage levels
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a safety-conscious mindset
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities, especially for voltage-specific safety communication and international collaboration with teams, including Japan.
- Strong attention to detail and independence, prioritizing safety
- Possession of high-voltage operator certificates for high-voltage system work
- Professional engineering license (PE) is a plus
