M&J has a need for a Senior Electrical Engineer for a supervisory position in our ITS/Technology group. Our clients are predominantly DOTs and Toll Authorities. The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide a high level of leadership, mentoring and training for less experienced staff. This could include technical, project management, marketing, or business development in nature. A Senior Electrical Engineer will perform assignments under the supervision of the Senior Vice President.

Responsibilities:- Manages multiple projects simultaneously through successful leadership of engineering, drafting and administrative staff.
- Will manage and coordinate all electrical engineering services to be rendered by the Consultant.
- Reviews and provides recommendations to the Design Engineer concerning Contractor’s Requests and serves as the Owner’s on-site representative to coordinate and monitor matters of quality, schedule, cost, substantial conformance to the contract document.
- Acts as a primary interface between design engineers, trades, field personnel, and the client to ensure proper project execution
- Acts as a technical resource on specifications, codes and standards, design requirements, construction methods, problem resolution, and constructability issues
- Effectively communicates verbally and in written format to clients, advising on appropriate building systems, architectural and structural accommodations for electrical systems, and clearly presents the design alternatives and associated costs to the client.
- Provides input for project direction and personnel assignments to the Project Manager.
- Applies standard engineering practices while researching and developing new methods and technology.
- Communicates relevant project information to other project engineers and team members.
- Resolves project issues in a timely fashion.
- Fulfills electrical department leadership responsibilities, teaching, and providing technical leadership as well as contributing to department standards.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering with a NCEERS record.
A minimum of ten year’s experience in the active development of design plan sets for DOT or Agencies including specifications and construction support.
Expertise in lighting, including Visual Analysis and power distribution is required.
Expertise with communications including fiber optics and wireless transmission is preferred.
Supervisory experience is a plus.
Salary commensurate with experience and proven capability.
