About the Job
North American Renewables, Inc., is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing Solar EPC team.
At NAR we are looking for a talented Electrical Engineer to be a subject matter expert for Direct Generation Solar Projects & Energy Storage.
We are in need of a self-starter who is an expert in the standards and practices of electrical engineering for solar and BESS projects and can work with both internal and external partners to design, review, and provide guidance on electrical engineering issues.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Act as the electrical engineer of record on battery storage and ground mount solar facility projects.
- Guide and review plan preparation by junior engineers for the electrical plan sets.
- Perform and review SAM calculations, ampacity studies, short circuit studies, TCC, ground grid, and arc flash studies.
- Review of client design standards and contract documents associated with the electrical engineering and construction of projects.
- Review of development interconnection agreements and other associated project documentation to ensure constructability of the proposed system and providing assistance in generating associated RFIs to the client when appropriate.
- Assists in developing, maintaining, and updating engineering design and documentation standards.
- Provide technical guidance to others regarding the electrical engineering portion of solar electrical engineering and construction.
- Review plan sets prepared by external electrical engineers for quality and presentation of information.
- Assist the procurement team in the review of product quotes and respond to submittals from internal and external groups for projects as the EOR.
- Review of development packages provided by clients for design issues, value engineering opportunities, and coordination of requirements.
- Provide assistance in the commissioning and project closeout to the construction team.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required
- Professional Engineering license in Electrical Engineering required
- 5 years minimum of work experience in the solar electrical engineering field (EPC experience preferred)
- Experience with conducting/reviewing power system studies including ampacity studies, short circuit studies, TCC, ground grid, and arc flash studies required
- Experience with ETAP required
- Experience with AutoCAD preferred
