About the Job
Senior Electrical Power Engineer Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage complex electrical power engineering projects with minimal oversight
• Develop, review, and approve critical electrical power engineering deliverables, including: One Line Diagrams, Electrical Load Lists, Equipment Specifications and Data Sheets (Transformers, Switchgears, etc.)
• Design of MCC, Switchgear, and Power Distribution Systems
• Cable Sizing & Routing Earthing and Lightning Protection System
• Designs Electrical Layout Plans (Substation Layout, Cable Tray Layout, etc.)
• Hazardous Area Classifications and Selection of Ex-Rated Equipment
• Power Systems Studies (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting, Harmonic Analysis)
• Relay Coordination Studies and Settings
• Participate in critical studies and reviews like HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessments
• Oversee the preparation, evaluation, and management of electrical requisition documentation, technical bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews
• Direct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for complex electrical systems.
• Conduct and supervise comprehensive field surveys to document and assess existing conditions
• Provide expert collaboration with project teams, clients, and suppliers to resolve complex technical electrical power challenges
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry
• Extensive experience in electrical power engineering, with a strong focus on LV and MV systems
• Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting wiring, fiber optics, and power design on-site Proficiency in SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical engineering simulation software
• PE Registration, or the ability to obtain it within 12 months, preferred
• Candidates should be located within daily commuting distance of Houston, TX.
