The Senior Electrical Project Manager - Water/Wastewater oversees the electrical scope of water/wastewater projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry regulations. This role involves planning, coordinating, and managing electrical installations and systems, while working closely with engineers, contractors, and clients.
Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Management:
- Develop detailed project schedules, work plans, and budgets for electrical installations.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and other project teams to ensure alignment.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines.
- Electrical Design & Technical Oversight:
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Provide input on design improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant safety standards.
- Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Manage procurement of electrical equipment, including transformers, MCCs, switchgear, and wiring systems.
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Evaluate vendor performance to maintain quality standards.
- Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Supervise electrical contractors, technicians, and labor teams on-site.
- Conduct regular meetings to communicate project progress and resolve issues.
- Ensure alignment with safety protocols and provide on-site training if necessary.
- Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor expenses and manage cost overruns to maintain budget integrity.
- Forecast electrical project costs and ensure proper allocation of resources.
- Regulatory Compliance & Quality Control:
- Ensure all electrical installations meet local codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Coordinate inspections with regulatory bodies and address any deficiencies.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project records, including permits, inspection reports, and change orders.
- Prepare project status reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
