About the Job
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Civil/Site team in Albany, NY! This Senior Engineer will be responsible for various technical aspects of land development projects including, but not limited to: site feasibility and conceptual planning, detailed grading, drainage designs and profiles, stormwater management, designing Erosion & Sedimentation Pollution Control (E&SPC) Best Management Practices (BMPs), and other regulator items.
A Senior Engineer will work within AutoCAD and Civil 3D as well as other engineering software alongside the design team to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines. Come join our growing & evolving team of land development engineers, today!
- Perform design tasks, such as conceptual planning, detailed grading, and drainage designs associated with civil engineering construction projects.
- Prepare stormwater management calculations including developing basin routings, channel design, and inlet capacity calculations.
- Generate pipe profiles and review stormwater designs based on project constraints.
- Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions to peers and management.
- Produce construction drawings, plans, and cost estimates.
- Develop Erosion & Sedimentation Pollution Control (E&SPC) and Post-Construction Stormwater Management (PCSM) plan sets and reports.
- Conform to the company’s standard AutoCAD procedures for layering, details, etc.
- Provide technical support to more senior staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Engineer-in-Training preferred, valid driver’s license preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
- Demonstrated AutoCAD Civil 3D skills with the ability to design from concept plans through construction plans.
- Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail with analytical and judgment capabilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Experience in land development.
- Knowledge of local city, county, and state land use processes and regulations.
- Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and other site development related designs, preferred.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Compensation: $74,000-$86,300 DOQ.
