In the role, you conceive, design, engineer, and implement data and software solutions that solve significant scientific or business problems. Generate new proposals and lead those efforts. Investigate, identify, and implement state-of-the-art technology platforms that drive productivity and efficiency gains in own function and throughout multiple business areas. Act as a lead in his/her area of expertise and critically evaluate relevant technological advances and integrate this knowledge into new business technology solutions. Technology architect will be aligned to a specific area: information, solution, system, data or user experience. Full stack architect/developer with ability to work as Process Intelligence domain expert on multiple cross platforms of process mining, automation etc.
Responsibilities
- Specialist with deep knowledge within a particular domain of their expertise. Aligns business mission, strategy and processes to its IT technology landscape.
- Leads a guild across the enterprise in his/her area of domain expertise. Develops enterprise-wide standards and best practices
- Evaluates and recommends tools/accelerators to facilitate delivery team productivity and remove engineering value chain bottlenecks.
- Effectively function as a principle architect, generating new technological proposals and leading those efforts. Anticipate and critically evaluate technological advances or competitive threats and respond with appropriate new strategies.
- Demonstrate creative 'out of the box' thinking to solve difficult problems and champion new technologies to achieve project goals.
- Independently responsible for technology within his/her area of expertise on multiple projects. Demonstrate mastery across a wide range of data and software engineering, including data warehousing, data integration, data visualization and analysis, software development, statistics, and machine learning.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical business, and utilize this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions. Recognized and sought out as an expert in his/her discipline within the company and possibly externally.
- Shapes relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, and industry peers in accordance with AbbVie Values, Vendor Management Office, and Purchasing to further the mission, vision and goals of the organization.
- May mentor/supervise a team of one or more and guide and evaluate the performance of those individuals; is accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.
Tools and skills you will use in this role:
- Expert in operating and leading in Agile & DevOps models
- Ability to assess and analyze complex business processes for process optimization and automation potential.
- Extensive experience leading and managing high performing teams and conducting code reviews using best practices
- Over 6+ years of experience in leading process mining and automation development
- Experience in .NET, HTML, JavaScript, and advanced automation tools (OCR, IDP, AI/ML) preferred
- Expert in using process automation and mining tools like UiPath, Celonis, Signavio with end-to-end automation designs and architectural patterns
- Extensive leading experience with enterprise-wide business process improvement initiatives
- Adept at process assessments and understands implications, opportunities, and challenges of applying process mining and automation to different business domains
- Experience in leading agile development and software development life cycle (SDLC) processes and policies
- Strong understanding and experience in software testing principles and methodologies
- Proficient in driving best practice design - identifying reusable components, queues, configurable parameters
- Knowledgeable on latest innovations/trends in the process mining and automation space
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in application program development, or equivalent, required. Minimum of 7 years with Master’s degree. Minimum 3 years with PhD. Pharmaceutical industry is preferred
- Preferred- 10+ years of technical experience in the automation and process mining platforms like UiPath, Celonis, Signavio etc.
- Over 6+ years of experience in leading process mining (incl data engineering) and automation development
- Requires in-depth knowledge and leading experience of the systems development life cycle, system application program development technological alternatives.

- This role requires 15% travel
- This role follows a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days in-office per week
- The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
