About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to fulfill a crucial role in our client's team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, planning, analyzing, designing, and developing mechanical products such as ammunition handling systems, structures, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and other devices. You will perform technical analysis, testing, and evaluation of moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and computer programs. Additionally, you will analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documents, models, and test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements. Your role will involve developing and writing technical documentation, making revisions to existing documentation, and providing input to technical papers or presentations. You may also deliver technical presentations related to production support activities. Proficiency in creating and maintaining product parts, assemblies, and drawings using PTC Creo Parametric 7.0 modeling software is required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex engineering design, development, analysis, experimentation, test, and product assurance tasks of limited complexity for assigned portions of a project.
- Solve moderately complex engineering problems which have not been clearly defined and may not have similar precedents available.
- Ensure tasks meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.
- Apply a wide range of engineering design and analytical theory, principles, techniques, and practices to a complex portion of a technical project.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers.
- Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering disciplines, industry practices, trends, and applications.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety policies and rules.
- Provide input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Skills Required:
- Working knowledge of creating moderately complex solid models and mechanical designs using CAD systems, preferably PTC Pro-E or CREO.
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems that require a professional level of engineering knowledge.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in a relevant work environment.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
