Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring a highly motivated full-time Senior Civil Engineer to join our Water Resources’ Flood and Draining team. As a senior engineer, you will be overseeing and performing project and assistant engineers, conducting technical analysis, performing project management, client management, overseeing designs, drafting of construction plans, and preparation of construction specifications as well as project scheduling, site inspections, construction cost estimating, construction management, and construction assistance.
What you will be doing
- Leading a design team advancing water resources flood control and drainage projects, such as large storm drainage pipelines, culverts, open channels, large trash-capture devices, floodwalls, levees, hydraulic structures, appurtenant roadways, etc..
- Field review of project sites to develop designs for new or rehabilitated facilities.
- Preparing and overseeing technical analyses and engineering designs.
- Coordinating with Project owners, resource and permitting agencies, and outside consultants.
- Performing AutoCAD Drafting and GIS Exhibit Development
- Construction coordination/inspection/management/documents review
Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s degree (MS) in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California.
- Proven ability to manage projects, clients, and teams, including providing direction to staff.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
- Holds a valid California driver’s license.
- Over 10 years of experience in preparing technical engineering analyses and designs for Water Resource projects.
- Extensive experience serving as a Project Engineer on Water Resources projects.
- Formal training or certification in Project Management.
- Familiarity with San Francisco Bay Area agencies and relevant State and Federal regulatory bodies.
- Active participation in professional organizations related to the industry.

The expected salary will likely fall within the mid-point of the range. Please note that this range does not account for geographic differences and may vary above or below the listed range. Any offer will consider various factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and training. Base pay is one component of the comprehensive compensation package provided by Wood Rodgers.
