About the Job
Based within the risk Organization, the Senior Enterprise Risk Manager is responsible for supporting the ERM department in designing and implementing the bank’s Enterprise Risk Management architecture as well as developing and enhancing ongoing risk management capabilities for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risk across the organization. This role requires strong banking industry experience, strong theoretical and practical knowledge of risk management, data analytics, and an aptitude for diplomatic, cross-functional collaboration.
This role will contribute to the establishment of risk management standards and processes to identify, measure, monitor, consolidate and report risks across the organization; which would support the recommend risk appetite and risk profile to senior management and board of directors.

This individual should feel comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative information and can move from the “gray” area to grounded recommendation in an organized and transparent manner.- Manages the identification and assessment of enterprise risks, including strategic, operational, and key initiative risks.
- Develops and implements risk management strategies and policies.
- Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of risk management strategies.
- Collaborates with various departments to ensure risk management strategies are integrated into their processes.
- Provides leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the company's operational and strategic risk
- Provide alignment, support, and effective challenge to evolving first line risk management build-out and execution across business areas (eg., Retail, Commercial, Technology and Operations).
- Support the Head of Enterprise Risk Program with the implementation and enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework to further align it with mid-size bank regulatory standards and expectations.
- Support the design and implementation of the tools and technology (i.e. – GRC), including documentation and training
- Supports any Enterprise Risk Management related examinations conducted by regulatory agencies, and internal and external auditors.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Masters Degree - preferred
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
- At least 4 years of Financial Services experience
- At least 6 years of Risk Management experience
- At least 4 years of People Management experience
- At least 8 years' experience overall in financial services, Risk and People management
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to above):
- 7+ years of Financial Services risk management experience
- 7+ years of experience in Project or Process Management
- 5+ years of internal strategy or management consulting experience leading cross functional financial services projects and programs
Technical and/or Essential Knowledge:
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral and public).
- Possess analytical skills (especially numerical, mathematical, and statistical).
- Ability to work under pressure (tight deadlines, shifting priorities, differences of opinion).
- Knowledge of banking products, services, and systems.
- Experience with Project Management and Microsoft Office suite; including advance knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
