Where would you step in?
As a valuable member of our Environment Business Line, you will join an experienced team of Licensed Environmental Professionals (LEPs), project managers, environmental scientists, hazardous building materials and demolition specialists, permitting and wetlands specialists, and engineers. You can sit in our Middletown or Shelton Connecticut office with a hybrid approach to working in the office.
Our Environment Team and Projects
Our Environment group is over 100 strong throughout our Northeast offices. The work we do covers site assessment, remediation, hazardous building materials management, building demolition, wetland science, regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and other ways we can support client work with state and local governments, utilities, private clients, industry, colleges, and hospitals.
What will you be doing as a Senior Environmental Scientist – Site Assessment & Remediation
As a Senior Environmental Scientist in our site assessment and remediation group you will join our growing team and work on a variety of ongoing brownfield and private redevelopment, Transfer Act, municipal, institutional, utility, and other interesting and challenging site investigation, and remediation projects. Your consulting services will assist clients with solving environmental challenges relating to soil, soil vapor, groundwater, indoor air, and sediment impacts. You will be given the opportunity to advance your career by taking on an increased level of responsibility related to projects and clients, technical deliverables, mentoring and business development.
What do you need?
You will need over ten years of experience in the environmental site assessment and remediation field. If you’re a new Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP), you are encouraged to apply, but licensure is not required. You will need a BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related degree. You will need in-depth experience with environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations and remediation, a thorough understanding of the CT Regulatory Programs (Property Transfer, Voluntary Remediation, etc.) and the Remediation Standard Regulations. It would also be great if you had experience with brownfields consulting, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and PCB investigation and cleanup under Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Programs but if you don’t, we would provide training.

Senior Environmental Scientist salaries are determined based on internal equity and market analysis and will vary based on the candidate’s skill and experience; the salary range for this position is $88,000 - $115,000.
