Summary
The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in managing the estimating process for mechanical contracting projects. This includes preparing detailed bid packages, working with subcontractors, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of project estimates. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical estimating, specifically in Process Piping for BioPharma and Semiconductor projects, and be proficient in using estimating software such as QuickPen.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage estimates for assigned projects, including creating detailed bid packages and project budgets.
- Develop scope documents for subcontractors, review bids for completeness, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Attend change order meetings and support project managers in validating and pricing changes across multiple projects.
- Lead scope and estimate review meetings, ensuring thorough and accurate estimates.
- Mentor and support the training of junior staff members.
- Foster and develop vendor relationships to support project success.
- Participate in business development activities, helping to grow existing and new client relationships.
- Maintain excellent communication and organization, ensuring effective time management and the ability to prioritize multiple demands.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of mechanical estimating experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or mechanical engineering preferred, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Extensive experience with Process Piping in BioPharm and/or Semiconductor industries.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as QuickPen or similar platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across all levels of management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in business development, including building relationships with existing and new clients, is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, and other relevant software tools.
- Ability to multi-task and handle several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Fundamental knowledge of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC).
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
- Able to travel as needed.

Pay: $126,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
