WCCTV is experiencing tremendous growth in our Houston, Texas market and we arecurrently recruiting for an experienced Senior Field Technician for our Installation & Service department based in Spring, Texas. Candidates should live in the northern Houston area and be able to drive daily throughout the greater Houston metropolitan area.
Primary responsibilities of the position include installation, de-installation, repair, service and maintenance of surveillance and security equipment. Specific responsibilities include:
1) Installation of WCCTV Systems
- Performs installation & de-installation of Solar surveillance Trailers & systems and ensures all sign off paperwork is accurately completed in timely manner.
- Tests products prior to deployment at customer locations.
- Programs surveillance cameras, routers and related equipment prior to installation.
- Conducts fault diagnosis & maintenance of low voltage CCTV systems.
- Drives to sites within the broader Houston, Texas metropolitan area to deliver and install products.
- May conduct site surveys prior to installation when necessary.
- Adheres to all health and safety requirements, including usage of personal protective equipment, of Wireless CCTV and its clients while performing field based work.
- Provides training to customers on WCCTV’s equipment and software
- Manages personal tool, protection equipment & vehicle inventory.
2) Leadership and Training of Field Technicians
- Assists in the recruitment of Field Technicians as required.
- Manages Field Technicians on site and if required in the WCCTV Production facility.
- Implements and maintains quality standards within the Field Technician team.
- Provides instruction and training to lower level Field Technicians. Assists in the development and assessment of Field Technicians’ skills per defined skills matrix.
- Identifies training needs of Field Technicians via completed assessments.
- Assists and/or conducts quarterly reviews of lower level Field Technicians.
- Supporting the Service & Tech support teams
3) Business Improvement
- Assists in the implementation of departmental improvements wherever possible to reduce costs and improve time efficiency.
- Assists and/or updates Production and Field Service processes and documentation.
4) Other Duties
- Any other duties within the level of competence as requested by the
- Directors or Senior Management.
- To ensure that all procedures are adhered to as stipulated in the Company Quality Procedures and Quality Policy.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent required; electronics certificate preferred. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of prior work experience installing and servicing cctv, alarm/access control or related products required. Intermediate knowledge in the use and applications of Access Control, Intrusion and Video Systems required.
- Must have a current valid state driver’s license and good driving record.
- Demonstrated effective time management, planning and organization skills along with ability to multi-task as this is a “hands on” role.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with internal staff and customers.
- Physical requirements include driving, seeing, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds regularly, climbing ladders, bending, reaching, ability to distinguish colors and fine motor skills/hand dexterity for the use of tools.
- Basic computer skills to include MS Office and diagnostic software (e.g. PC-based).
- Basic knowledge of computer networks, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Gateways, routers, switches preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather is required.
Work hours are Monday through Friday generally between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:00 pm (start time may vary based upon customer installation schedule). Ability to work some overtime on occasion is required. Company truck is provided for all installation and service calls.
Must currently have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the US; no visa sponsorship.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting hourly rate of $21 to $24 per hour depending upon experience; may be eligible for a pay increase based upon successful completion of a 12 week probationary period.
