Responsibilities:
Responsible for producing high quality financial analysis and reporting to assist the business with informed decision making and support our internal and external customers.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Analyze and compare monthly and quarterly results, metrics and key performance indicators against plan and other benchmarks.
- Complete month-end close activities and related entries and reconciliations within established deadlines.
- Detailed review and analysis of multiple key areas including fixed assets, prepaid, leases and accruals.
- Conducts insightful variance analysis between actual results and budget/forecasts as part of monthly financial reporting package.
- Prepares and coordinates with appropriate team members on monthly senior management reporting package.
- Develop and maintain financial models, trend and scenario analysis to support business with financial and strategic initiatives.
- Perform ROI analysis and maintain scorecard of all Capital Projects and provide status of projects and spend on monthly basis.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to streamline workflow enabling increased focus on analytics.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support our business partners.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting or financial reporting/analysis experience required.
- Property/Casualty insurance industry experience preferred but not required.
- CPA or MBA is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
- Superior analytical skills and a thorough understanding of GAAP principles required.
- Possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to details. Effectively sets priorities, takes accountability and achieves results.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills along with sense of ownership and accountability.
- Capable of building solid working relationships with peers and management.
- Advanced skills in MS Office Suite are a requirement. SQL Management Studio and spreadsheet modeling skills are a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
