Financial Analyst II
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Financial Reporting, this role is part of the Accounting Compliance & Optimization team. Primary responsibilities include managing the Chart of Accounts (COA), internal controls, financial reporting, and analysis. The role also supports departments by providing guidance, collaborating on solutions, and developing procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Chart of Accounts (COA):- Advise departments on COA usage and ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Monitor and correct COA usage; facilitate COA segment setup/closure.
- Oversee sabbatical account compliance and year-end true-ups.
- Ensure accounting compliance, including review of labor suspense, Workday program usage, and cash sale transactions.
- Assist in resolving Financial Review Checklist exceptions.
- Collaborate on assessments, prepare guidelines, and update training materials.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet certifications.
- Support the preparation and analysis of YSM's monthly Financial Review Package.
- Financial modeling and forecasting.
- Develop financial reports and collaborate on system improvements.
- Ensure strong internal controls and manage risk.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance with four years of related experience.
- Advanced organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Yale’s accounting systems (Workday, Microsoft Power BI, Yale Budget Tool).
- Knowledge of Yale's financial policies and procedures.
Compensation: $80-95k depending on experience
