Our Opportunity:
We at Chewy seek a highly motivated, analytical, and hard-working FinancialAnalyst to join our rapidly growing Operations Finance team! Combining an understanding of finance, practical knowledge of financial statements and using data to make-and-drive decisions, this candidate will perform various financial planning and analysis processes to support key strategic decisions, drive Chewy fulfillment center growth, and ensure financial objectives are achieved.
What You'll Do:
- Perform modeling and analytics required to synthesize large sets of data and produce concise outputs to deliver business insights, reporting and analyses, and recommendations and/or conclusions to leadership.
- Aid in the reporting and financial performance management frameworks for the business and help define metrics and performance indicators to evaluate overall business performance.
- Work cross-functionally with the broader Finance team, Supply Chain, and Accounting to fully understand the business, its customers, and overall operations.
- Actively participate in the target setting, and annual/quarterly planning processes.
- Lead all aspects of the monthly close process ensuring books and records are accurately maintained in accordance with Chewy's policies and procedures.
- Pursue continuous improvement in all areas of the business with an emphasis on Merchandising, Operations, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Finance.
- Optimally lead numerous projects at a given time in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Need:
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, or Economics.
- 0–1-year relevant finance experience with a basic understanding of GAAP and grasp of financial statements.
- Financial analysis and modeling skills, and experience in forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis.
- Sophisticated Excel (i.e. VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.) and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience with SQL coding, Hyperion Smartview, Tableau, and Oracle ERP is a plus.
- Ability to think creatively, work independently and as part of a team to tackle problems given limited resources and time, have a strong work ethic, and carry out to deadlines.
- Able to work with ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
