Role
The senior front-end engineer will design and implement next generation IoT and device management tools and analytics within our Notehub cloud service. They currently use a combination of React and Vanilla JS on the front-end, and Golang, PostgreSQL, Redis and containers on the back-end.
In your day to day, you will iterate on design solutions to customer problems and contribute to planning, development and testing. Your features need to work equally well on desktop and mobile, so knowledge of progressive enhancement and implementing responsive designs are a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing in Figma, and implementing responsive, mobile, user-friendly interfaces for the Web
- Collaborating with teammates to translate UI/UX designs into functional code
- Writing clean, modular, and well-documented code using a combination of vanilla JavaScript and React
- Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to ensure quality across the product
- Staying up-to-date with the latest frontend technologies and best practices, and actively contributing to the continuous improvement of their development processes
Who You Are
- B.S. degree or equivalent experience
- 4-8 years of UX implementation using React, Backbone, or similar UI frameworks
- Have an eye for design and UX, and a knack for responsive web design
- Solid understanding of core JavaScript concepts and principles, including ES6+ syntax, asynchronous programming, and functional programming paradigms
- Experience working with REST-ful APIs and asynchronous data fetching techniques
- Familiarity with frontend build tools and package managers such as Webpack, Babel, and NPM/Yarn
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and preprocessors such as SASS or LESS
- Comfortable working autonomously within a fully remote, distributed team
- Great attention to detail, well-organized, and strong communication skills
