Job Description
As a Senior Geosynthetic Quality Assurance Inspector for Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that geosynthetic materials are installed in compliance within industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. The individual who will fill this role will be under the direct guidance of a registered professional engineer, you will work as a team member alongside site managers, general contractors, and engineers to perform the required inspection or monitor general contractor activities, onsite testing, and reporting of earthwork, soil construction and geosynthetic baseliner installations on various job sites throughout the Southeastern United States. In addition, you will actively collect concrete, soil, and other site materials for testing to ensure construction standards and specifications are being met.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education (GED).
- Observe and diligently document installation process on a job site, (quality, strength, and integrity of geosynthetic materials, including tension tests, seam integrity assessments, and geomembrane leak detection tests) in accordance with company and project specifications.
- Monitor and meticulously document all stages of geosynthetic installation, including preparation of subgrade, placement of geosynthetic materials, test results, corrective actions taken, seam welding or joining, and any additional comprehensive inspection reports for project documentation.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings to provide input on geosynthetics installation best practices, standards, and quality control measures.
- Provide training and guidance to CQA team on proper geosynthetics installation techniques and quality standards.
- Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies related to geosynthetics installation and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with third-party testing laboratories and other relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate and reliable testing of geosynthetic materials.

Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in solid waste / geosynthetic discipline
- Progressive experience in the observation and construction administration of liner installation and soil testing.
- Experience in client relations.
- Leader and team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for conveying inspection findings and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
Work Environment
- Working outdoors in all-weather types (hot, cold, in the rain, snow, sleet, and high wind)
- Driving to and from construction job sites in the Southeast (Road warrior position 100% travel)
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions (climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and respective motions).
