Description
Permanent position for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
Conduct and oversee geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance, soil sampling, and laboratory testing.
Perform geotechnical analyses, geotechnical design and reports for various geotechnical systems
Provide high-end technical leadership on complex projects
Manage challenging geotechnical projects in the NY metropolitan area.
Conduct field quality control/quality assurance and provide geotechnical recommendations during construction phases.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
Assist in business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations and industry associations.
Projects include earthwork, driven and drilled pile construction, load testing, footings subgrade and backfill quality control, ground improvements, retaining wall design and construction, and excavation support system design and inspection, geotechnical instrumentation.
Requirements
MS Geotechnical Engineering required, PhD is a plus.
PE license is REQUIRED.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience with geotechnical engineering.
Experience with project management and design.
Strong analytical experience is required in the areas of, soil and rock, slope stability analysis, earth retention-systems, waterfront structures, deep foundation design, soil improvement techniques, underpinning design, seismic design and pavement design.
Prior field experience in earthwork, driven and drilled pile construction, load testing, footings subgrade and backfill quality control, ground improvements, retaining wall design and construction, and excavation support system design and inspection, geotechnical instrumentation.
Experience in leading technical projects, directing multi-functional teams and developing and mentoring junior staff.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.
