We are looking for a skilled, resourceful, and collaborative Senior Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team in Burlington, Vermont. The Professional Engineer (PE) and Project Manager will work closely with a team of staff engineers and scientists on challenging and exciting projects largely in urban environments, including foundation design, site characterization, and geotechnical analysis. This is a fast-paced and dynamic position, with opportunities to be challenged, contribute to project outcomes, interact routinely with project Principals and clients, and is designed to support your professional growth.

Essential Functions – What You Will Do

- Develop new business opportunities and lead business development initiatives.
- Manage and grow client relationships through project delivery excellence.
- Prepare proposals, technical specifications, and project budgets.
- Manage project budgets and prepare invoices.
- Manage and supervise staff engineers, providing technical leadership and mentoring.
- Set technical strategy and oversee production of technical work products, including engineering design, site investigation, and construction documents.
- Plan and coordinate subsurface exploration and field investigation programs.
- Interpret and analyze field and laboratory data using industry-standard geotechnical software.
- Coordinate and oversee construction administration and QA/QC for development projects.
- Manage preparation of geotechnical reports, design plans, data tables, specifications, and other deliverables.
- Formulate conclusions, recommendations, and geotechnical strategies for development projects, including deep foundations, shallow foundations, and retaining wall design.

Competencies – What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of ten years relevant experience and a BS in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics, or related field) or seven years relevant experience and a MS in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Focus).
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of geotechnical engineering principles.
- Experience with site investigations, soil testing, laboratory testing, and construction earthwork.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, gINT, and geotechnical analysis software.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and geotechnical instrumentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills combined with the flexibility to work with shifting priorities.
- Desire and affinity for networking and business development.
- Awareness and general understanding of environmental considerations (i.e., contaminated soil and groundwater management during construction).
- Client-service orientation with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver to meet expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
