We are looking for a skilled, resourceful, and collaborative Senior Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team in Burlington, Vermont. The Senior Geotechnical Project Manager will work closely with a team of staff engineers and scientists on challenging and exciting projects largely in urban environments. This is a fast-paced and dynamic position, with opportunities to be challenged, contribute to project outcomes, interact routinely with project Principals and clients, and is designed to support your professional growth.

Essential Functions – What You Will Do

• Develop new business opportunities.
• Manage and grow client relationships.
• Prepare proposals and project budgets.
• Manage project budgets and prepare invoices.
• Manage and supervise staff engineers.
• Set technical strategy and oversee production of technical work products.
• Plan and coordinate field investigation programs.
• Interpret and analyze field and laboratory data.
• Coordinate and oversee construction administration for development projects.
• Manage preparation of reports, design plans, data tables, specifications, and other deliverables.
• Formulate conclusions, recommendations, and geotechnical strategies for development projects.

Competencies – What We Are Looking For

• Minimum of ten years relevant experience and a BS in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Focus) or seven years relevant experience and a MS in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Focus).
• Possess Professional Engineering Licensure.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of geotechnical engineering.
• Experience with geotechnical field work and construction earthwork.
• Strong organizational and time management skills combined with the flexibility to work with shifting priorities.
• Desire and affinity for networking and business development.
• Awareness and general understanding of environmental considerations (i.e., contaminated soil and groundwater management during construction).
• Client-service orientation with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver to meet expectations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work well as a team member, with a collaborative communication style.
