This position is full – time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 8:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 20 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be Monday – Friday from 9:00am - 5:30pm EST / 8:00am - 4:00pm CST / 6:00am - 2:30pm PST. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve, on the first call, customer service inquires and issues by identifying the topic and type of assistance the caller needs such as benefits, eligibility and claims, financial spending accounts and correspondence
- Help guide and educate customers about the fundamentals and benefits of consumer – driven health care topics to select the best benefit plan options, maximize the value of their health plan benefits and choose a quality care provider
- Contact care providers (doctor’s offices) on behalf of the customer to assist with appointment scheduling or connections with internal specialists for assistance
- Assist customers in navigating myuhc.com and other UnitedHealth Group websites and encourage and reassure them to become self – sufficient
- Ability to works independently and collaborate with others
- Serve as a resource for others.
- Ability to work any shift between 8:00am to 8:00pm flexible for shift within these hours in their time zone

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to work any shift between 8:00am to 8:00pm flexible for shift within these hours in their time zone
Preferred Qualifications:
- Customer Service Experience
- Sales or account management experience
- Health Care / Insurance environment (familiarity with medical terminology, health plan documents, or benefit plan design)
- Social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, health promotion and behavior change (working with vulnerable populations)
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
- Ability to connect directly into internet – via hard wire (either directly to modem or router)
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington or Rhode Island Residents Only: The hourly range for California / Colorado / Connecticut / Nevada / New York / New Jersey / Washington / Rhode Island residents is $18.80 - $36.78 per hour.
