Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HVAC Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This role requires advanced technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to ensuring that all HVAC systems operate efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Setup: Lead the installation of new HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation units, according to specifications and company standards.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform and oversee regular maintenance and emergency repairs on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues with HVAC systems using appropriate testing devices and diagnostic tools.
- System Upgrades: Recommend and implement system upgrades and enhancements to improve efficiency and performance.
- Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety standards and procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and labor time.
- Leadership: Mentor and train junior HVAC technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and provide excellent customer service by addressing their concerns and answering any questions about their HVAC systems.
- Training and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical or vocational program in HVAC technology is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as an HVAC technician, with demonstrated expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.
- Certification: EPA Section 608 certification for handling refrigerants; NATE certification or other relevant certifications are a plus.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components, and refrigeration systems; proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Other: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
