About the Role
Responsible for the support and the timely process through which end user issues and/or system problems are controlled. Maintains, analyses, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems. Administer and/or maintain specified systems. Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups. Provides support in the administration and implementation of corporate-wide information security services. Installs, test, configures and maintains information security programs. Provides technical guidance and queuing analysis.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures; assisting conducting incident response analyses; developing and conducting training programs
- Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- Assist in the administration of the Information Security Management System (ISMS)
- Assist in responses to external audits, penetration tests and vulnerability assessments
- Assist in the creation and implementation of corrective action plans
- Supervise the risk assessments and penetration tests
- Assist in the completion of gap analysis activities
- Perform Information Security administration duties as assigned
- Create and maintain proper system and process documentation
- Perform security related tasks for the Information Security and related systems
- Assist in the evaluation of new systems and programs
- Provide recommendations to management in the generation of business cases and justifications
- Supervise Information Security Administrators in installation and configuration of Information Security equipment
- Escalation support for Information Security staff
- Mentoring of Information Security staff
- Perform Incident Commander functions as needed
- Make recommendations to the Information Security Manager and Director as required
- Supervise tasks and responsibilities assigned to Information Security staff
- Assist in the planning of system upgrades and interdepartmental coordination
- Assist Information Security staff with support issues
- Facilitation of interdepartmental system implementations
- Represent Information Technology in departmental meetings
- Provide input/expertise for designated committees or teams
- Develop/identify improvements to existing systems to enhance security protection
- Participate in the departmental planning and budgeting processes
- Manage Technical related projects and tasks
- Provide system reports to management
- Provide planning reports for areas of responsibility
- Provide incident/downtime reporting
Skills and Qualifications
- Five years previous work experience of installation, configuration, troubleshooting, repair, supporting, administering, design and planning of the Information Security hardware and software in an enterprise networked environment.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, or equivalent degree is preferred.
- Advanced Training Courses or and Advanced Information Security certification such as ISACA, SANS, Cisco or ISC2.
- Proficient knowledge of 50% of all Information Security systems, demonstrate coaching skills to Information Security staff and has acted as Project Manager on a successful major Technology Initiative in past 12 months.
