the information systems and technology infrastructure at the Broward Sheriff’s Office in Fort Lauderdale FL.

Job Description
The Senior Information Technology Auditor will ensure that Broward Sheriff’s Office’s IT systems are secure,
efficient, and compliant with all relevant regulations, helping to protect their organization from various
technological and operational risks.
ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES
● Coordinate and develop the annual risk-based IT audit plan.
● Plan and conduct IT audits to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of IT controls, compliance with
regulatory requirements, security, and privacy of data.
● Coordinate with cross-functional audit teams to evaluate and address IT-related risks and controls within
the context of operational and financial audits.
● Identify and assess IT-related risks and controls and provide recommendations to mitigate those risks
and improve processes.

● Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, standards, and policies.
● Develop and utilize Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) and Continuous Auditing Techniques.
● Load, extract, merge, and clean potentially large datasets from a wide variety of data sources in
preparation for data analysis. Validate and ensure data integrity. Process unstructured data into a form
suitable for analysis. Ensure all data is kept confidential.
● Analyze data using statistical and non-statistical techniques and interpret findings. Independently
searches for unique patterns and relationships of relevance to any audit, investigation, or legal
proceedings. Join data from multiple sources to identify anomalies and develop automated scripts for the
continuous monitoring data analytic program.
● Prepare data reports and use data visualization techniques to make findings more easily interpretable and
memorable, especially for audiences without a background in analytics.
● Prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for improvement and track the progress of
remediation efforts.
● Monitor emerging technology risks, security threats, and industry trends to ensure audit plans remain
relevant and effective.
● Oversee the work of assigned audit staff, providing guidance and coaching to ensure high-quality work.
● Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to convey complex technical and business concepts
to non-technical audiences.
● Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIRED SKILLS:
● Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or related IT audit
certification.
● Minimum of 5 years of IT audit and data analytics experience working for a mid to large corporation,
government, or equivalent experience working in technology audit/risk consulting for a professional
services firm.
● Hands-on experience with data analytics tools and techniques.
● Advanced knowledge of IT audit testing and documentation, including IT general controls, application
controls, IT security, and data privacy controls.
● Strong knowledge of data analytics and data extraction tools and techniques.

● Strong knowledge of IT management disciplines including system development life cycle, change
management, physical and logical security, networks, and cybersecurity principles.
● Strong knowledge of IT governance, risk, security, data privacy, and control frameworks such as COBIT,
NIST, CIS, COSO.
● ACL, Caseware IDEA, or similar data analytics program
● SQL, Python, R, Power BI, or other data analysis tools
● PeopleSoft or other ERP systems
● Audit management and workflow software
● Microsoft Office Suite
EDUCATION
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in accounting, computer science, information
technology, or related field; or a combination of education and experience in leading and performing IT
audit and data analytic projects.

● Work Hours: 9:30am – 5:30pm EST
