Oak Grove is seeking a Senior Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to design and develop eLearning (asynchronous, self-paced) and instructor-led (synchronous, traditional classroom) training content.
Responsibilities:The Senior ISD is responsible for developing engaging and effective content that aligns with learning objectives and supports our customers’ needs. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a strong background in instructional design and content creation for eLearning, instructor-led, and blended learning environments. The ideal candidate also possesses a take-charge personality using resourcefulness and initiative to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
The Senior ISD leads the production of interactive, Section 508-compliant, SCORM-conformant learning solutions that support the performance outcomes and requirements of customers using the Oak Grove application of the ADDIE (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate) framework. He or she researches, develops and documents learning objectives (using Bloom’s revised taxonomy), standards, and requirements for programs. The Senior ISD ensures that adult learning theory and evidence-based best practices are applied in designing content. The Senior ISD works with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and analyze requirements and works closely with the Project Manager to monitor and control schedule and scope. The Senior ISD ensures that quality assurance checks take place during the execution of all phases of production, adheres to schedules, assigns tasks to team members, and monitors delivery and receipt of project materials and assets.
Duties and responsibilities also include:
· Act as liaison between Oak Grove Technologies and the customer’s major point of contact for the course/curriculum under development. · Facilitate face-to-face and virtual meetings with customer project teams; prepare agenda and record meeting notes. · Develop and maintain schedules of deliverables and project/work plans. · Design and develop instructor-led training. · Design and develop effective web-based course content, interactive exercises, and assessments in collaboration with SMEs, graphic/multimedia specialists, instructional designers, and other instructional professionals. · Supervise an instructional designer in the design and development of courseware, including requirements and gap analyses, content creation, and evaluations. · Meet with internal development teams to discuss course/curriculum development progress and needs. · Guide SMEs and other stakeholders in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of effective courses and instructional programs. · Serve as a reliable consultant on learning objectives, design methodologies, adult education, and curriculum and course design, internally and with customers. · Collaborate with SMEs and course stakeholders to convert instructor-led training materials into a variety of eLearning products.

To be considered for this position, candidates must minimally meet the education/experience and knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required in the area/areas of Learning Sciences, Educational Evaluation, Instructional Design, Instructional Product Development, or Instructional Technology - Ability to function independently and as a team member - Extensive experience using the ADDIE ISD framework to produce training programs - Ability to design simple training that conveys complex concepts - Ability to project manage efficiently and balance shifting priorities - Experience in applying adult learning principles - Experience in applying SCORM standards - Experience in applying Section 508 accessibility guidelines - Beginning to intermediate skills in eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software - Experience in developing instructor-led training materials - Experience directing and managing development of interactive training content for web-based and video-based training at all levels of interactive multimedia instruction (IMI) levels - Ability to communicate clear instructions for formative, summative, and confirmative evaluations - Strong client-centric consulting skills with an emphasis on real world, practical problem solving - Strong project management skills with ability to lead multiple, complex projects with tight time lines. - Ability to identify, document, and communicate training requirements and issues. - Ability to resolve conflicts as needed - Experience designing training for federal agencies is preferred - Experience writing proposal responses is highly desirable This position requires U.S. Citizenship.
