What You Will Do
The Mobile Device Solutions Architect (SA) will be a team member for a highly visible Innovative Customer Experience (ICE) Division that focuses on delivering modern solutions in a timely manner and building relationships throughout Information & Technology teams and across Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
As a Microsoft Intune systems expert your core job requirements include the design, deployment, and support of configuration management principles using hybrid (on-premises and cloud) Microsoft solutions for managing and ensuring the security and compliance of all types and models of mobile devices supporting a wide range of use cases. You will promote and develop relationships across the division to meet the needs of mobile device configuration, testing, and patching. Within ICE Device Configuration Services, the Intune Engineer will act as a senior subject matter expert for a team that has initiatives targeting the future of mobile device management and use.
This position will be filled at either the Solutions Architect 3 or Solutions Architect 4 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
Solutions Architect 3 (SA-3) ($112,000 - $186,700)
The solutions architect serves as principal architect of large and complex hardware, software, database, networking, and/or telecommunication solutions. Determines Laboratory-wide requirements and incorporates these requirements into solutions that may be commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) or internally developed software and hardware. May be responsible for project management in implementing complex solutions. May be responsible for oversight of project documentation, marketing, training, budget, schedules, resource utilization, and benefits realization on complex solutions projects.
Solutions Architect 4 (SA-4) ($135,300 - $227,700)
Has wide-ranging experience in an enterprise environment, uses professional concepts and Laboratory objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods. Considered expert in field within the organization. Develop resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity and where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Work is accomplished without considerable direction. May coordinate activities of other personnel. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment, and determines the methods and procedures needed for new assignments.

Desired Qualifications:
Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. - Demonstrated high level administration of a large Microsoft Intune implementation as a Mobile Device Management system including device policy development and enforcement
- Demonstrated technical support of mobile devices such as iOS or Android devices including provider/carrier management systems such as Apple Business Manager
- Expert knowledge in designing on-prem, hybrid, and cloud solutions using Microsoft management technologies
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and project management skills including the development and publishing of guidance and policies
- Demonstrated excellence in working professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers to maintain a successful work environment and complete mission
Additional Job Requirements for the Solutions Architect 4:
In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires:
- Demonstrated implementation and maintenance of a successful enterprise Intune environment
- Extensive experience providing technical leadership and architectural direction for complex systems
- Strategic thinking in the formulation of solutions and capabilities to ensure that long-term business objectives and impact are factored into the design process

- Understanding of public key infrastructure (PKI) and certificates
- Understanding work-flow concepts and technologies (Power Apps, Power Automate, etc.)
- Experience with configuration Management principles (SCCM, AutoPilot, patch management, vulnerability remediation)
- ITIL/ITSM framework experience
- Certifications: MS365 Endpoint Administrator Associate or higher
