Job Description
- Manage IPR, post-grant reviews, and interference proceedings, including filings and fee payments.
- Assist with appeal filings and oral hearing preparations.
- Use P-TACTS, EDIS, and ECF systems for e-submissions.
- Maintain case files, draft correspondence, and support trial and appeal preparations.
- Conduct legal research and manage cases using various databases.
- Prepare status reports for IPMT lawyers and Practice Operations management.
- Cite-check and edit legal documents; write concise legal memoranda.
- Organize exhibit lists and privilege logs.
- Coordinate with vendors and ensure compliance with firm protocols.
- Train staff on PTAB applications..
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of IP litigation paralegal experience in a large law firm preferred.
- Experience with PTAB, ITC, and U.S. District Court best practices.
- Experience with electronic discovery support and vendor coordination is desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree
- ABA-approved paralegal certificate desirable.
- Strong knowledge of USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board procedures.
- Proficiency with PTAB’s P-TACTS, U.S. District Courts ECF, and ITC’s EDIS systems.
- Ability to resolve issues independently and manage competing deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
