Overview
Maven Group is seeking a senior Enterprise Architect to join our team. We are looking for a candidate that will act as a strategic leader who can drive an enterprise's technical architecture direction and provides the perspective to integrate project and program strategies to ensure alignment with our client's' business. Our Enterprise Architect may be required to create, modify, and maintain strategic roadmap(s) for IT (Information Technology) systems based on customer requirements and initiatives. This position requires working well in teams and independently on projects and often interfacing with the customer.
The position requires 8 years of prior experience as an enterprise architect, and evidence of proficiency is highly desired (e.g., TOGAF, Open CA, Zachman Certified Architecture, CBA). The position requires working with large enterprise customers and creating technical architecture models to reflect a client organization's strategies and goals.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & DutiesĀ
This role will be integral in driving the build-out of a holistic view and roadmap of the company's technology strategy and processes, and essential functions, responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Act as a technical leader and will set the architecture direction for strategic technology projects and key initiatives.
- Build and evolve a business technology strategy, including the strategic roadmap for IT systems.
- Partner with internal technology groups to ensure that proposed technical solutions align with the company's overall objectives.
- Lead the development of IT strategies and roadmaps to drive investments in enterprise capabilities.
- Establish application and technology portfolio management processes and tools to provide transparency and reduce technical debt.
- Communicate technical roadmaps to align IT priorities with business partner needs
- Identify opportunities to digitize business processes and experience with internal innovation teams.
- Lead architecture governance, technology standards process, and reference architecture development
- Evaluate business, information, application, and technology views of the solutions and identify risks.
- Possess an intimate knowledge of cloud technologies and cloud and hybrid cloud frameworks
- Monitor new technological advances in application development and information technologies.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to understand and translate business objectives into technological solutions
- Define and develop audit and review checklists ensuring compliance with enterprise standards
- Define and improve architecture processes and artifacts
- Contribute to peer reviews, technical audits, and technology standards processes.
- Collaborate with and mentor other enterprise and solution architects.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- The position requires 8 years of prior experience as an enterprise architect
- Professional Certification highly desired (e.g., TOGAF, Open CA, Zachman Certified Architecture, CBA)
- Demonstrated ability to digest complex issues, assess various options, and create recommended paths for solutions and services
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multi-functional teams and businesses dealing with software and hardware products
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics with senior leaders in an organization
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality
- Experience leading technology strategy development, capability mapping, and enterprise architecture roadmaps
- Experience in defining and managing governance processes
- Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex technology solutions
- Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and system engineering
- Demonstrated experience with business process and performance modeling, benchmarking, and financial analysis
- The ability to "think big" and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology refresh and hype
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- A demonstrated ability to build consensus among many stakeholders
- Expert consultative skills at a cross-functional level
- Experience with multiple Architecture frameworks and project delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile or Waterfall)

- Ability to effectively work in and navigate a matrixed, multi-vendor organization
- Comfortable operating in a virtual environment with geographically dispersed teams
