Senior IT Project Manager

Long-Term Contract: $60-$80 per hour

An experienced Senior IT Project Manager is needed to lead the transition from Informix to a modern, cloud-hosted database management system. This role will focus on enhancing data processing capabilities and supporting future scalability. The Project Manager will lead one or more DevOps teams responsible for the planning, development, and maintenance of large, complex systems, and will play a key role in application development within an Agile Release Train (ART) environment.

Responsibilities:

· Manage projects through the entire life cycle, including creating and maintaining project plans, documentation, and status reports.

· Facilitate meetings with stakeholders from multiple levels and functions to capture product requirements and user stories.

· Monitor project budgets, including expenditures and projections.

· Resolve problems and coordinate services by working closely with management, users, and contract providers.

· Provide technical assistance on system issues, hardware, software, and project-related inquiries.

· Serve as part of the Scrum team managing the Agile Release Train (ART) DevOps teams using SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).

· Utilize software development methodologies, such as SDLC, to drive consistent project delivery and system analysis.

· Manage DevOps teams to deliver quarterly plans with predictable measures, aligned product specifications, and ensure projects are completed within the target release date.

· Ensure compliance with technical, security, and regulatory standards and maintain transparent communication with all cross-functional team members.

· Perform project management duties within the SAFe framework, including managing scope, timeboxes, dependencies, and overseeing project documentation.

Required Skills:

· In-depth understanding of IT Project Management concepts, practices, and tools, particularly within software application development.

· Proficiency in Agile methodologies, specifically the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

· Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies and familiarity with database requirements and system specifications.

· Effective team-building, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.

· Proven experience, training, and certifications in IT project management and leadership roles.

· Ability to demonstrate relevant experience in managing cross-functional DevOps teams, particularly in software development within the SAFe framework

Nice To Have:

· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

· Certified Agile Scrum Master certification.

· Experience in software systems analysis and/or business analysis.
