Senior IT Services Technician - Round Hill Search

International Am Law 100 firm in Palo Alto, CA, seeks an experienced Senior IT Services Technician with a strong background in hardware support, preferably within a law firm environment. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience providing Tier I and Tier II technical support, troubleshooting hardware issues, and managing IT infrastructure to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
• Oversee IT infrastructure installation, configuration, and maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and security
• Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
• Coordinate with external vendors to procure, maintain, and repair hardware and software components
• Maintain detailed records of hardware assets, repairs, and IT service requests. Create and update technical documentation and user guides
• Support IT projects by providing hardware expertise and contributing to the planning and implementing new technologies and systems
• Provide training and support to staff on hardware usage and best practices. Stay updated on the latest technology trends and recommend upgrades
• Participates in identifying and supporting delivery of proactive maintenance and upgrades to Firm appliances and systems in partnership with IT solution owners
• Leads the identification of continuous improvement opportunities for tiered support services in coordination with Regional Management and centralized IT teams
• Manage maintenance contracts with various vendors as an extension of the Regional IT Manager

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT services with a focus on hardware support
• Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred, ideally in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline. Appropriate technical certification(s) are preferred (e.g., MCSE, Cisco CCNA)
• Previous experience working in a law firm or similar professional environment is preferred
• Strong technical skills with proficiency in managing and troubleshooting various hardware and IT infrastructure
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with end-users, vendors, and team members
• Experience with standard Operating Systems and software (e.g., Windows 10 and later, Microsoft Office 365 / 2021)
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing end-user devices and appliances
• Knowledge and understanding of networking infrastructure and devices
• Experience with law firm-specific software and hardware
• Familiarity with network infrastructure and cybersecurity best practices

Salary:

$80,300 - $113,000, DOE
