About the Job
Overview:
The primary purpose of the Senior Lab Technician is to perform testing of various cleanroom products to assist Quality, Production, Research and Development, and Marketing in their integrated goal of product improvement through detailed investigation and data collection.
Responsibilities:- Releases product to warehouse upon completion of all acceptable testing.
- Organizes, verifies completion and accuracy of results of all testing, enters data in IFS or Excel files in computer, and files all batch information.
- Reviews quality folder for completeness and reviews IFS shop orders
- Routinely performs testing (particle/fiber, extrinsic and intrinsic sorbency, extractables, specific gravity, wick rate, etc.) on material samples and finished goods to monitor production lot quality.
- Prepares samples and performs skilled analytical testing such as gas chromatography/mass spec, ion chromatography, and FTIR analysis. This includes preparation of samples, performing the test, and analyzing results.
- Prepares samples and performs titration analysis as needed for product release.
- Performs air monitoring of cleanroom areas.
- Ensures proper supplies are available to perform testing.
- Ensures labs’ equipment are maintained and cleaned as necessary.
- Performs QC inspections on finished goods.
- Periodically calibrates testing equipment (Karl Fisher, GC, GCMS, etc.), preps chemicals and performs testing, and analyzes the results to troubleshoot any issues with the equipment.
- Proof reads work procedures and submits changes to procedures as needed.
- Helps with test method development and validation of lab equipment, including preparing and testing samples for Gage R&R studies.
- Communicates changes and information from Quality Management to other Quality Techs on their shift.
- Helps with initial training and retraining on new or revised lab procedures.
- Periodically inventories lab supplies and orders replacements as needed.
- Places goods in Reject Hold, enters NCRs, and initiates NCR investigations when needed.
- Enters Material Review Board (MBR) disposition into IFS and releases product for production.
- Participates and works within ISO 9001-2015 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S.) from four-year college or university; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements:- Working knowledge of IFS, Control Plans, ETR database, and Inventory processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Understands manufacturing drawings/diagrams and can interpret them.
- Understands the MRB process; Reject and Rework.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Performs duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.
- Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies and procedures.
