The Senior Leader, NSC Networks lead one or more member networks to provide opportunities for learning, sharing, and collaborating with world-class HSE professionals to advance EHS programs and prevent occupational fatalities and injuries.
What You’ll Do:
- Knowledge Management:
- Lead one or more member networks comprised of world-class member companies which already have sophisticated, mature safety cultures.
- Collect, synthesize, and organize relevant knowledge to develop timely and innovative agendas and related materials for network meetings (around 2-4 per year).
- Organize and lead special topic meetings or conferences based upon member needs.
- Lead task forces on emerging or important topics.
- Assist in collecting member company input on regulatory and non-regulatory issues, including developing and preparing surveys, analyzing data, and preparing technical reports.
- Serve as an HSE subject matter expert (SME) and assist members companies with understanding new and innovative HSE concepts.
- Assist members/companies in ensuring compliance with federal HSE regulations, and evaluating the impact of new and existing regulations on company operations.
- Maintain professional certifications and continually develop new HSE skills and expertise especially those required to support the HSE Networks.
- Continually advance professional and technical knowledge through the review of professional, academic, and regulatory journals and newsletters, and attending professional development conferences and seminars.
- Provide additional technical, advisory, or professional services as needed to maintain and grow the HSE Networks.
- Relationship Management:
- Chair and recruit members for the steering committee of the member network.
- Identify and recruit relevant speakers for the meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with members.
- Work in a team environment with a focus on member service, including supporting the leaders of the other member networks.
- Assist in business development, marketing, and other member services.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with pre-eminent HSE professionals and researchers
- Outreach:
- Research and prepare updates, newsletters, reports, white papers, blogs, and other web-based communications on technical, regulatory, and policy developments.
- Manage externally facing products/events (such as the Country Profiles or the HOP Summit)
- Represent NSC | Network at industry, government and professional meetings and summarize important results and learning.
- Prepare and conduct presentations and webcasts on relevant topics.
- Periodically communicate with Network members on important or emerging issues.
- Travel to NSC | Network meetings, professional conferences, and member company sites as required. Both domestic and international travel is required. Travel expenses will be provided by NSC | Network or member companies as appropriate.
- Managers of people spend a significant portion of their job directly managing the work of at least three employees and overseeing consultants/1099 contractors, with responsibility for hiring, firing, and performance decisions.
Bachelor's (Master’s Preferred) degree and at least 20 years of industry-relevant experience in a related career in occupational safety and health and the environment and in at least one of the following areas:
- Law, business advocacy or government relations
- Business management positions or corporate consulting
- Certification as a Safety Professional, Industrial Hygienist, professional engineer, ergonomist or other related certification.
- Leadership and ability to forge relationships quickly
- Ability to provide leadership and a proactive focus
- Robust organizational and technical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to plan and execute meetings and large events
- Ability to articulate and advocate business positions
- Strong interpersonal relationships
- Meeting facilitation
- This is a remote position
- The salary for this role is: $185,000
