Summary
DLA Piper is seeking a lawyer with a minimum of eight years’ experience handling commercial leases to join its Real Estate Group. This position is open to our Atlanta, Boston, California, Chicago, Miami, New York, Reston, Texas and Washington, DC offices.
Job Responsibilities
+ Acting as the lead attorney in drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related agreements such as term sheets, letters of intent, work letters and SNDAs; supervising the work of less experienced leasing attorneys; interacting directly with clients, opposing counsel, brokers and other relevant parties.

+ Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying
Experience
+ Minimum 8 years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related agreements such as term sheets, letters of intent, work letters and SNDAs.
Job Competencies & Desired Skills
+ Understanding of the commercial leasing market, including what is “market” for various types of leases and lease-related issues
+ Experience with leases for multiple property types, including office, retail, industrial and life science.
+ Substantial experience representing landlords.
+ Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and colleagues
+ Ability to understand our clients’ business objectives and to produce work quickly and efficiently
+ Strong negotiating skills
+ Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
+ Strong analytical and writing skills
+ Attention to detail
+ Good business judgment
+ Excellent organizational skills
+ Ability to work collaboratively and independently

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Work Environment
Hybrid with some in-office expectations, potential to become fully remote.

Pay Transparency
The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $250,000 to $375,000 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
